LOWELL, Mass. -- The Devils opened up their pre-season schedule against the Phantoms in Voorhees, NJ. Trailing 2-0 in the first period, goals by Ryan Murphy and Stephen Gionta knotted the score at 2-2. Jason Ryznar's tally later in the first tied the game at 3-3 (the first six goals were scored during a 6:42 span of the first period).
Chris Minard scored two unassisted goals to give Lowell a 4-3 second-period and a 5-4 third-period lead. Gionta's second goal of the game, at 4:24 of overtime, marked his third point (2g-1a) of the contest. Minard also recorded 2g-1a-3pts.
The two teams will meet again Friday night at Codey Arena in West Orange, NJ. $10 tickets will be available at the Codey Arena box office prior to the start of the 7pm contest. Click Here for More Details |
